How do I upload my files?
To upload files for your site, you can use FTP or the File Manager in Plesk Control Panel. Also, some software applications such as Macromedia Dreamweaver and Microsoft FrontPage can be used to upload files to your server.
To connect to your server you will need your FTP server name e.g. ftp.yourdomain, and your password.
Where should I upload my files?
Once you logon to your domain, you must upload your files to the folder httpdocs. For CGI scripts, you should use the cgi-bin folder.
What is FTP and how do I use it?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a standard protocol for uploading files over the Internet. For Windows users, we recommend using FileZilla for FTP. FileZilla has a drag-n-drop interface and is very intuitive. For Macintosh users, Fetch is probably the most popular FTP program available and is quite easy to use.
Email
How do I create an email account or mailbox?
If you wish to have an e-mail address associated with your site you should create a mailbox. Follow these steps to create a mailbox from the Plesk Control Panel:
- From your "Desktop" click on Create mailname, or click on Mail from the main dashboard.
- Click Add New Mail Account.
- Your domain name is shown to the right of the @ sign, so you only need to specify the desired name for the mailbox.
Your mailbox can comprise of alphanumeric, dash, dot and underscore symbols.
- Specify a password that you will use for accessing your mailbox.
- Make sure that a check mark is present in the Mailbox check box.
- Click OK.
How do I create an email alias?
An email alias is a way of mapping an email name to an existing email address. Follow these steps to create an email alias from the Plesk Control Panel:
- Click on Mail from the main dashboard.
- Click on the email account for which you would like to create an alias.
- Click Add New Mail Alias.
- Your domain name is shown to the right of the @ sign, so you only need to specify the desired name for the alias.
- Click OK.
Please note that email aliases can only receive email. If you wish to be able to send email from the address, it should really be set up as an actual POP account or mailbox.
How do I create an email forward or redirect?
An email forward is a way of mapping an email address to an existing address at your domain or another domain. Follow these steps to create an email forward from the Plesk Control Panel:
- Click on Mail from the main dashboard.
- Click on the email account for which you would like to forward.
- Click on Redirect.
- Enter the email address where you wish to redirect your email.
- Make sure that a check mark is present in the Redirect check box.
- Click OK.
How do I create a mailing list?
Follow these steps to create a mailing list from the Plesk Control Panel:
- Click on Mail from the main dashboard.
- Click on the Mailing lists tab.
- Click Add New Mailing List.
- Create a name for the mailing list.
- Create a password for the list administrator.
- Enter the administrator's email address.
- Click OK.
- Once you have created the mailing list, you can add new members by clicking Add New Member.
How do I access my email?
You can access your email from any browser by going to http://webmail.yourdomain/. You can also access your mail using any software or web application that allows you to configure POP3 or IMAP accounts. For instance, Gmail allows you to retrieve email from any domain using POP3.
What are my email settings?
You can access your email via POP3 or IMAP. Your incoming/outgoing mail servers are mail.yourdomain. Please note that the outgoing mail server requires authentication, i.e., you need to use your email login name and password to use it.
The following are the port numbers for POP3: 110 (non-SSL) and 995 (SSL)
The following are the port numbers for IMAP: 143 (non-SSL) and 993 (SSL)
We recommend using a secure connection (SSL) for the incoming server.
The following are the port numbers for the outgoing mail server (SMTP): 587 (non-SSL), 465 (SSL)
We recommend using a secure connection (SSL) for the outgoing server.

What software is used to show site statistics?
AWStats is used to generate detailed graphical information on the number of people who have visited your site and the pages they have viewed.
How do I view the site statistics?
To view your web site statistics use the URL, http://yourdomain/plesk-stat/webstat (if you have SSL on your domain you can use https). You will need to log in with your FTP account login and password.
